Diving right in to Monday, avid Middle Eastern Studies enthusiasts will have a special treat at the University of Michigan.
Today UM presents Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, the director of the Islamic Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ISESCO). The organization is dedicated to the peace and development of the Islamic world and beyond through the means of education, science and culture.
The event is co-sponsored by the University of Michigan's Islamic Studies department, the Center for Middle Eastern and North African Studies, and International Ford Policy Center.
Mr. Altwaijri is likely to discuss current political situations that affect Muslims on an international scale and share his insight on what Islamic organizations can do to make themselves the most useful.
