Live rent free in Detroit, blog about it

Why aren't there I {heart} NY type t-shirts for Detroit?  Oh, right. Detroit has lost much of its luster and overall appeal in the last two decades and everyone knows it.  But at least some people are not easily going to allow the city of Detroit to slip deeper into the abyss.
Do you? Prove it! :-)

MyFOX Detroit presents the I Love Detroit Contest for the community at large, stating: As a way to bring attention to the exciting, unique, creative and often unnoticed places and events in the city of Detroit, Garden Court Condominiums, Detroits premier high-rise living complex, is launching the first-ever I Love Detroit! video contest. Its asking the community to show their love for Detroit by capturing a video of themselves doing what they love most in the city.
The Garden Court Condominiums has recently been renovated and was the filming location for the popular Martin series of the 90s (remember Sheneneh?!).  It is a historic building and has a beautiful exterior and interior.  A condo in Garden Court could be your next home for a year!
After submitting the video, if chosen, the person(s) will then have to blog about Detroit culture (restaurants, sporting events, food, presumably on the dime of the contest creators).  Interested applicants can visit the website for full details.  Below are the highlights:

(1) Shoot a video (no more than two minutes!) that showcases why you love Detroit and would be the perfect person to blog about your day-to-day adventures living downtown.
You don’t need fancy video equipment or editing tools to submit a video. Simply prove that you’re passionate about Detroit and would love to help tell the city’s story.
(2) Sign-up and join our community site at www.gardencourtvideocontest.com
(3) Upload your video submission by 11:59pm on Monday, June 21st.
A panel comprised of local bloggers and personalities will review all submissions. The winning video will be announced at a “Wrap Party” on Tuesday, June 29th!
*To enter, you must be 21 years of age or older. For more information, please view ourcontest rules and terms & conditions.
Muslims should surely get involved in the rejuvenation attempt of a great city.  And imagine how awesome it would be if a Muslim was getting positive press and exposure to thousands of others through their chronicled experience living in Detroit.  This is just the type of publicity Islam needs!
So, watch the video included below, talk to your spouse/family about it, and submit your video before the 29th!
This is a great idea -- Mission: Resuscitate Detroit has been launched, so get on the bandwagon!
