Some people know Aburatib as a teacher, many more people know him as one of the best Islamic singers in the world, and at the present moment, all should realize that he is in need our support and help.
In early January of this year Aburatib, also known as Mohammed Mustapha Masfaka, had a court hearing regarding the charges brought against him.
The famous singer and teacher is also a father to five young girls, and a responsible husband. He is currently in jail serving for what he claims to be are "false allegations".
A dinner is being arranged in support of Aburatib and his family, who are still residing in the metro Detroit area. It is important to remark that Aburatib taught and sang for years at a lovely Islamic school in Canton, Michigan. People who knew him were shocked to find him in such a predicament.
Here is what Aburatib himself had to say of the charges: "As you are aware, I, Mohamad Masfaka, have always been a person who has used his God given gift of singing and the ability to express lyrics of free speech. Now, I'm being charged. The allegations are not of terrorism or anything of immoral conduct. These charges are the left over remnants of an investigation which was directly supervised by the former President's administration. The charges are only allegations and are not true.
I have always believed in my right to free speech, along with my right to free assembly and association and I’m reluctant to believe the charges were brought against me in an effort by the Government to stifle these rights. With your support and prayer; I'm ready to defend myself against these false allegations."

Mohamad Masfaka, known as Aburatib, is a well known singer of Islamic songs across the Middle East and the world. He has millions of fans and is respected by them all including government diplomats. He is one of the first of Islamic singers of our time who has had a momentous effect on the Islamic songs industry and shaped it to what it is today. And thus he has been declared one of the leading Islamic singers of all time. He has performed in countries around the globe and received a tremendous amount of awards including the Most Influential Muslim Artist in Inshad in Qatar year 2006. Aburatib has a PhD in Philosophy and Islamic Media. Currently, he is the Chair of the International Union for Islamic Art.
After spending a year outside the USA completing his PhD, he returned to America and is now being held in custody for false charges.
