Halal Joke Series: The Annual Play at Hebrew School

In an effort to increase the number of clean jokes that are available on the internet we have begun to compile a list of jokes and humorous stories that any one can enjoy on this Examiner page. Unfortunately, the sources for many of the jokes in this series are unknown. If the reader can offer more information about a joke which is featured (an alternative telling, names of the characters, origin or culture, etc.) please let us know in the comment section below. THE JOKE: The annual children's play at a Hebrew school was on it's way to production. Students were excited to discover who they were cast as in the upcoming play. After finding out what part he was to play, one young boy went home to tell his mother the news. He told her that he was cast as the 'husband' in the play at school. His mother frowned and said, "No, no. You run right back to school and tell your teacher you want a speaking role!" THE MORAL: The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor has a wonderful Alternative Spring Break (ASB) program which allows Jewish and Muslim students to travel and serve the community together in poverished areas. It was during such a trip that Yours Truly learned this joke. Fellow Jewish ASB participant shared the funny story with us to demonstrate the influence and power Jewish women generally have within their families. What's your take on the joke?
